Dr. Gottschalk attained Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1990 then completed residency at the Neurological Institute of New York. He began his career in Headache Medicine as a fellow at the Montefiore Headache Unit (Bronx, NY) and is board-certified in Headache Medicine by the United Consortium of Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS). He is currently Section Chief, General Neurology and Director of the Headache & Facial Pain program at Yale University as well as Program Director for Headache Medicine Fellowship training.
He is an active member of the American Headache Society (AHS), serving as Chairman of the Resident Curriculum Development subcommittee of Medical Education and as a member of the Academic Program Directors’ Committee. He is an Associate Editor of the AHS journal, Headache.
