Ronny Wickström is Associate Professor and head of paediatric neurology at Astrid Lindgren´s Children´s Hospital and Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. His clinical work as well as his research is mainly focused on inflammatory and autoimmune disease and inflammatory causes for e.g. epilepsy. He also leads the National Neuroinflammatory Paediatric Network in Sweden. Since 2018, he is part of a project in Stockholm for children with suspected PANS that brings together specialists from child psychiatry, child neurology and child rheumatology. This project aims at standardizing diagnostic methods, disease criteria and treatment effects through inclusion in studies employing a treatment algorithm which includes immunotherapy.
